Whether its Uganda, Nigeria, Cameron, Gambia, Somalia, or Egypt, the state of LGBT Africans is reaching crisis mode. Worse. I would go as far as calling whats happening to LGBT Africans today as nothing short of genocide. And that is OUTRAGEOUS. To say the least. LGBT Africans are being verbally, physically, emotionally and sexually assaulted; arrested and imprisoned; tortured; lynched or sentenced to death by the state..... The human rights abuses that people face everyday simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity is increasing. The safety and security of LGBT people is getting more and more threatened. The hatred, the bigotry, the discrimination, the abuse, the dehumanization, the ignorance - fueled by propaganda - all contribute to this genocide of LGBT people.
The world cannot keep quiet or passive about this. The UN, world leaders and other countries must react and speak up against this injustice. Only action will create change, not just words. LGBT Africans are suffering EVERY day and they need our help. NOW.
